The pocket park meadow is bursting with swathes of oxeye daisies bobbing in the breeze. Flowering from May to September, their yellow centre is made up of multiple small flowers which hold nectar attracting a large variety of pollinating insects such as bees, butterflies and hoverflies. Other names for the Oxeye daisy are 'moon daisy' and 'moon penny' as the bright white flowers appear to glow in the evening.
The pocket park is owned by the parish council and they have put in new gateposts recently, which look great. Why not take a stroll down there over the summer months to see the array of wild flowers, enjoy the shaded woodland and listen to birdsong from the hedgerows and trees.
