A Talk by Cathy Smith
Historian Dr Cathy Smith will take us back to 1838 to look at how attitudes toward the mentally ill began to change in the Victorian era. The focus will be on how patients were diagnosed and treated at the old Northampton Lunatic Asylum and the role of this institution in the local community.
