Ravensthorpe was one of the first villages to produce a Village Design Statement in 1998 but over time changes to the planning environment had made this less effective and a revision was proposed to ensure that it continued to be of value for representing the views of the village in planning matters.
In 2014 the Parish Council asked a small group, including some of the authors of the original VDS, to produce a revised version. This was written following consultation within the village and on 23rd Feb 2017 was accepted by Daventry District Council as Supplementary Planning Guidance.
The Parish Council would like to thank all those who contributed to the project and encourages anyone considering development or alteration to existing buildings in the village to read the document.
Printed copies will be available to families moving to the village as part of their welcome pack.
